The Late Late Show's fourth episode is underway with Patrick Kielty at the helm-but viewers were raging that tonight's show wasn't live.

The show's country music special was pre-recorded during the week. Tonight's show was opened by singer Una Healy and then her uncle Declan Nerney, who sang the catchy 'Stop the World and Let Me Off.'

Patrick Kielty welcomed viewers and then made a special announcement that one of the country stars was going to be inducted into the Late Late Show Hall of Fame. The chosen country star was Declan Nerney, who was delighted.

Declan said: "I wasn't expecting it at all Patrick. Not at all."

The Longford singer seemed genuinely surprised and moved by the honour.

Kielty quipped back: "It would have ruined the surprise if you were Declan." Una Healy was among those to congratulate her uncle saying she is "so proud" and that he's been a "great mentor and role model" to her.

However, not all RTE viewers were impressed with the start of tonight's show, saying that it's it should have been live. One person commented on Twitter: "Come on lads why isn't it live? Raging it's been pre-recorded."

A second said: "Una Healy , not a great start! Same old, same old And then her uncle, Declan Nerney."

A third joked: "Congratulations to Nathan Carter making his 1000th appearance on the Late Late Show."

A fourth quipped: "Stop the world and let me off actually is a great suggestion at the top of the #LateLate country special. The audience already are clapping like they're at a silent disco listening to different songs. See yiz!"

But other viewers were more positive about tonight's show as they praised "legend" Declan Nerney for his contribution to Irish country music over the years. "Fair play to Declan, lovely man and a true country legend," said one fan.

Another said: "Good man Declan Nerney, great Longford man to open the @RTELateLateShow and well deserved Hall of fame."

A third person said: "Great show so far loving it. Very funny and great music."

Guests on tonight's show will include Father Brian D'Arcy and the 'Queen of Country' Philomena Begley.
