A man has been arrested after a whopping €250,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb and €6,000 in cash was found in a vehicle on the M50.

Gardai stopped the vehicle near the Finglas exit on Saturday morning and seized the drugs and cash. The drugs will now undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

The seizure is part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local.
