Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris has issued an important reminder to families on the upcoming double child benefit payment.

Parents will receive a one-off €280 lump sum thanks to provisions made under Budget 2023. This compares to the €140 standard monthly payment received by families.

The confirmed date for the payment falls on Monday December 4. People can expect to see the money in their bank accounts sometime that week.
