A South Dublin GAA club has slammed vandals after they left tyre marks all over their training pitches - which could take them "out of action for months".

St Kevin's Kilian's GAA Club in Kilnamanagh shared a heartbreaking post on Facebook saying their pitches were targeted by vandals. The club shared photos of the pitches that were covered in tyre marks, saying: "It's unfortunate, annoying and preventable that we awake again this morning to vandalism to our pitches. As a club we endeavour to provide games in a fun environment for our children and Community.

"However when random acts of vandalism like this occur it means our pitches will be out of action for months. We adhere to council restrictions and keep off the pitch as required but seems that doesn’t apply to these mindless idiots!"

They concluded: "As a result its the community, kids and players that suffer!" The GAA club tagged a number of councillors, South Dublin County Council, the Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Association and a couple of official Camogie accounts.
